Own the smallest and most symbolic piece of the very wood that witnessed the birth of generations of Marines. This smooth, laser-engraved chip is cut from reclaimed White Oak taken from the historic Yemassee barracks, part of the Marine Corps receiving complex active from 1915 to 1965.
This site served as the very first stop for more than 500,000 recruits heading to Parris Island. For fifty years, nervous young recruits stepped off the train at the Yemassee Depot, received their first corrections, and either spent the night in the nearby barracks or were shuttled to catch a boat to Parris Island.
Some of this wood dates back a century. A Marine who fought at Belleau Wood, Tarawa, Iwo Jima, Chosin, Khe Sanh, or Vietnam may have walked across these very boards. Carry this chip as a pocket-sized piece of Marine Corps history.
